What are E-Cigs?
An E-Cig is basically an electronic alternative to regular cigarettes which enable you to inhale nicotine in a vapour rather than smoke. They don’t produce tar or carbon monoxide which are two of the most harmful elements or traditional tobacco products.
They work by heating liquid that normally contains nicotine, propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerine, and flavourings.
E-Cigs can be effective in helping people give up smoking tobacco as you can gradually reduce the nicotine content in the liquid as you progress
Types of E-Cigs?
The main types available are:
Vape pens – these are shaped like a tube or a pen with a tank, coil and rechargeable battery.
Pod Systems – these are rechargeable, compact devices ofter shaped like a USB stick and use e-liquid capsules.
Mods – generally larger than the above but have a refillable tank and rechargeable batteries with variable power.
Disposable – these normally work off nic salts and can last up to around 800 puffs.
